The Golden Shanty

The Golden Shanty : Short Stories by Edward Dyson, first published in 1963, is a selection of Dyson's works by Norman Lindsay.

The Golden Shanty was first used in The Bulletin's Christmas anthology in 1889, prompting Dyson to become a regular contributer to The Bulletin.

Many of his humourous tales are based on anecdotes he collected around the goldfields as a boy, while others, based around factories and the like, are from his own observations.

A rollicking good laugh can be had from this book, but please be aware some might be offended by the racial intolerance depicted in some stories.
