Storm Boy and Other Stories
Colin Thiele first published Storm Boy as The Rim of The Morning in 1966 but, by whichever name you call it, it remains a wonderful story about the changes in life that happen when a child grows up.
Storm Boy is the son of a fisherman who lives and works along the coast of South Australia. Storm Boy rescues a pelican and the close ties that bind them in friendship are the constant thread running through this magical tale, right up to its heartbreaking conclusion.
The other short stories included in this book are equally as enjoyable, full of Colin Thiele's observances of the, sometimes, confusing and conflicting experiences of people on their journey towards adulthood.
