Digging Up Deep Time

Published in 2004 this is a brilliant book for anyone; from a budding junior paleontologist to an armchair traveller who enjoys reading about Australia.
The book covers digs all around Oz, covering the evolving cycle of life from bacteria through to dinosaurs and onto today's fauna such as wombats, possums and koalas.
A fantastic snapshot of the rise and changing forms of life on Earth have been preserved here in Australia and presented for all in this book.
Savers Footscray has the oddest most unusual books I've found.
The inscriptions are good too: "Happy birthday Florence, 10/7/1928, and wasn't that storm dreadful!"
Their book section started out small, and was very low-priced. Now it's grown, and so have the prices. But I don't mind. It's the best place for something quirky, and the only competition comes from a few bluestockings -old ladies.
